Drop-in Bike Skills & Maintenance: Henderson
June 10, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
FreeAuckland Transport is running a Beginner Bike Skills & Maintenance session at the Henderson Service Centre on Saturday 10th June from 10am – noon.
How to get there: enter from Smythe Rd, follow the driveway past the Council buildings, and park in the carpark at the end which is where the session will be held.
The session includes separate ‘learn to ride’ instruction for anybody who has never ridden a bike, while other participants can practice changing gears, braking, and bike control. A mechanic will also be there for anybody wanting to learn about maintenance.
The drop-in session is a flexible format where you can take part in bike skills lessons, bike maintenance, or a little of both. Unable to stay for the full time? No sweat – stay for as little or as long as you like. It’s also a good opportunity to come along and ask one of our regional coordinators for more info on riding locally.
So, if you are keen to master the art of riding a bike, or want to learn to fix a flat… pop in.
No need to book – but bikes are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We don’t want you to miss a moment of the fun, so it’s best to get there early.
AT’s Beginner Bike and Maintenance Drop-in Sessions continue around the city through winter, with sessions in Henderson, The Cloud and Takapuna. Click here for more details.
