March’10: “The Tipping Point” Think Tank

25 creative thinkers including advocates, media people and local and national politicians (all cyclists) met on Waiheke for a Think Tank with the aim of mainstreaming cycling faster.  This was a blue skies – ‘how can we act differently to get different results’ brainstorm weekend.

Watch for lots of new Cycle Action initiatives arising from this think tank.

March’10: Cycle Action Activities
In March we were at a number of events around Auckland:

  • Light up at Twilight at Henderson Park on Friday 19th March – The lights were switched on along Project Twin Streams by Deputy Mayor Penny Hulse. It was a family event with free Next bikes to try on the cycleway
  • Give City Cycling a Go on Free Bikes! On Saturday 20th March – Greens on Campus provided free bikes to those keen to try cycling in the city for the first time. They encouraging experienced cyclists to come along for the group ride and picnic in Albert Park
