We bike the newly minted “Avondale to New Lynn shared path” then go on a guided walking tour of the incredible sculptures plotted around Olympic Park, New Lynn. Bike Auckland will provide their secure Bike Valet service as the group visits each site on foot.
Guiding the Art tour is Avondale local Nate Savill, ObjektCare – coffee enthusiast and expert in full service sculpture restoration, care and installation. He maintains the sculptures of some of the country’s most eminent artists and is a fantastic raconteur.
Alongside the Art are stories of significant sites and historic events en route. We welcome back local historian Lisa Truttman, chauffeured on one of our rickshaws (there may be a spare seat if you’re not a cyclist. Mention that in the registration form).
BIKE AVONDALE offers a limited number of community bikes for those in need. Please book these on the registration form.
MEETING POINT = Old Pigeon Club park (cnr of Tait Street and Blockhouse Bay )
9am – 9.45am – Bike Checks and coffee
