Get out and Explore Auckland: Bike Ride Rotary Path
March 6, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am
Have you #gottogetout and explore Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland?
Thanks to Auckland Transport, Got To Get Out is hosting a series of free outdoor events to encourage our community to try walking & cycling for getting to work / school / leisure.
We’re also profiling new cycleways and commuter routes, and showcasing public transport options like bus and trains as a great way to get to your adventures.
About your free guided activity:
This easy grade 18km ride is from Panmure train station, along the newly opened Eastern Busway bike path to the rotary path, back via the Glen Innes foreshore.
During this ride you will enjoy stunning views of the Waitemata Harbour, ride on super smooth cycle-lanes, and have a lot of fun.
Expect great korero / chats with other outdoor lovers, a chance to make new friends, and get some fitness!
Bikes are available for rent, if needed.
To get there:
Use the AT Journey Planner (https://at.govt.nz/bus-train-ferry/journey-planner/) or AT Mobile app to plan your journey to the Panmure station.
Please bring:
Your own bike (expect a quick bike safety check over from your trip host)
Comfortable enclosed footwear
Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, skin protection)
Raincoat / something warm in a backpack
Any personal medication (like asthma inhaler etc)
Food for you
All ages welcome (under 16 need to be ‘signed in’ by a parent or guardian) though please note the group moves at a ‘commuter’ speed, so this is not suited to beginner riders or children learning to ride.
