Hauraki Rail Trail – Paeroa to Waihi return

This is a very popular classic ride through the Karangahake George.
The trail is mostly flat on unsealed surface. Not suitable for road bikes. Starting point is at the tourist information in Paeroa. The Karangahake George is the highlight including a 1100m long railway tunnel. In the mining town we will have lunch and there will be the option to check out the MTB trails. On the way back a visit to the Waikino Hotel and Pub is a Must Do.
WHAT TO BRING: Snacks, water, rain jacket, spare tube and toolkit.
LEVEL OF FITNESS: This is an easy grade ride
