Keen to adventure out of town on your roadie but never been too certain of a good route to take? Do you want to stretch your endurance further than normal and gain a sense of accomplishment hitting 100km on a ride?
This ride will take you south to Drury, and onwards through the gentle undulating hills of Ramarama, Paerata and Karaka. It’s not flat, but no tough hill climbs either. We’re aiming for an average pace of 24km/h, this roughly means a speed of just under 30 on the flat.
This is a no-drop ride – no one gets left behind, we will stick together on the flats but allow for own pacing on uphills – waiting at the top of each one. Ride time will be approx five hours, which includes a coffee stop at the end.
Ride leaves from Howick Information Centre, Picton Street, 7:15am, please meet at 7am for a quick briefing.
Be prepared for the ride, please bring :
• Road Bike • Front and rear lights • Pump • Spare tube(s) • Tools • $$$ for coffee stop • Helmet • Gloves • 2x bottles of water • Snacks • Sense of adventure
Note: Your safety is your responsibility.
Please, no use of mobile phones whilst riding.
