Liberate the Lane!

We’re calling on Waka Kotahi (NZTA) to liberate a lane on the Harbour Bridge for cycling, in a three-month trial this summer.
Skypath has stalled, and people trying to board ferries with their bikes are being turned away due to lack of space on board. We cannot wait five years for another solution.
With mounting congestion and increasing emissions in Auckland, we must provide space for zero carbon transport now. The Bridge is the key missing link in our city’s cycle network.
We are unable to host a ride over the Bridge, because Waka Kotahi have refused our requests since December last year for a public ride. We know their refusal and lack of action is causing public frustration. It’s time they owned this, and stepped up to deliver for Auckland.
