Bike Auckland

Our local hero Teau is at it again, with a family-friendly day of bike fun in Mangere on the Monday of Queen’s Birthday Weekend. There’ll be a sausage sizzle, giveaways (including the coveted Mangere BikeFIT T-shirt for those who register in advance), bike repair and advice, test-rides for new riders, and a whole range of bike activities for kids.

Roll along Orly Ave to the Mangere Town Centre carpark on June 6 between 10am and 2pm, and share the spirit of a community that’s getting into bikes in a big way.

In fact, we’d venture to say Teau has single-handedly gotten more people onto (and into) bikes than anyone else in Auckland right now. He’s currently spreading the word about safer streets, with a LOVE MANGERE/ SLOW DOWN campaign that’s getting the whole neighbourhood proudly on board. Check out the photos over on Facebook to get a sense of the breadth and power of his outreach. And if you want to see what the future of transport looks like, come and meet Teau and co.
