We are delighted to host several terrific presentations at this month’s Cycle Action meeting.
- Richard Barter (former Chair, Puketapapa Local Board) and Sam Corbett (Auckland Transport) are fired up with what they saw and learnt while attending the annual international Velo City cycling conference, held last month in Adelaide. Great to hear from them while their impressions are still fresh!
- Two 3rd year AUT Design students majoring in product design are presenting their projects to us for comment. Matthijs Blok – concept for a HOP card-enabled secure bike rack, and Antonio Wan – concept for in/out pathways linking bike park facilities at rail stations to adjoining cycle lanes and cycle paths. Highly topical, so we’ll be all ears and eyes.
- If we have time, I’m dying to show you all the brilliant video made for Cycle Action by 3rd yr AUT Communications student, Monica Solanki on the benefits of combining PT and cycling. It stars 4 gob-smackingly articulate and smart Generation Zero friends of Cycle Action.
